Level

The absolute or relative voltage, current, or power at a particular point in a circuit or system. A tier or layer of a hierarchical system, e.g., the Link-Level protocol, high-level computer language.

level alignment - The adjustment of transmission levels of single links and of links in tandem to prevent problems such as overloading of transmission subsystems.
